| George Unsworth is a curator and writer living in London. Whilst studying for his BA at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design and an MA in Cultural Theory at Goldsmiths University George Unsworth began developing programme for Space Studios in East London; producing thirty exhibitions over a five year period and working with over 200 artists. During this period he initiated and developed the Olympic Artist Forum alongside the Museum of London and began running Future Studio events with the Whitechapel Gallery. He also delivered a wide range of residency projects and programmes working with artists from Mexico, Brazil, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Canada, The Netherlands, and Switzerland. In 2008 he delivered an Arts Council funded Widening Participation Programme with major commissions and exhibitions by international artists and in 2009 he was awarded AHRC funding to conduct Phd research at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design continuing his interest in artist resources and international residencies through the development of future studio and residency models. For 2010 he has been selected as Director of the 2010 Year of Sculpture for University of the Arts London. | |
